AWS development and DevOps

Many of our client products run on Amazon Web Services. The team that writes the code also sets up the infrastructure, deploys the application and keeps it running. The case studies below list the AWS services each project used.

AWS services we work with

  • Compute: EC2 instances and Docker containers for web apps, APIs and workers.
  • Data: RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL), ElastiCache (Redis) and S3 for files and media.
  • Queues: SQS for background and event-driven processing.
  • Delivery: CloudFront CDN, Route 53 DNS and managed certificates.

How we set up AWS

We separate staging and production, keep secrets out of the code, and ship through CI/CD pipelines so every release is repeatable. Where a project needs it, infrastructure is described as code and reviewed like application code. Errors go to Sentry and metrics to CloudWatch, with alerts routed to the client's team.

Cost and scale

We size infrastructure to current traffic and plan the next step in advance, so the bill grows with the product. Typical savings come from right-sizing instances, moving slow work to queues and caching. When a product grows, the same setup scales out with more instances or containers behind a load balancer.

Frequently asked questions

Can you migrate an existing app to AWS?

We plan the migration, move data with minimal downtime and switch DNS once the new environment has been tested.

Do you work with other clouds?

We also deploy to DigitalOcean and Azure; the choice depends on the product and the client's existing accounts.

Who owns the AWS account?

The client. We work in the client's account with access the client controls, so the infrastructure stays theirs.
